Meet The Founder!

Surrounded by chickens, birds, cats, and dogs from an early age, Claudio Akpinar-Figuccio grew up in a home defined by a unique love for animals. After earlier projects, he redirected his efforts towards a childhood interest, nature. He currently runs a social enterprise called Fortheshelter.com, where customers can support a charity of their choice, ranging from animal-focused to even environmental organizations. His past projects include publishing a self-help book, raising $10,000 to support unemployed adults with autism, and collaborating with nonprofit organizations such as The Little Saint Nick Foundation.

    Alongside members of his school, Claudio led a fundraiser that raised $10,000 for a nonprofit providing meaningful employment and on-the-job training to autistic adults, becoming the second-highest fundraiser in the charity’s history as of 2023.
